TNIM participated in the First Annual Merrickville Festival of the Arts on Aug, 28 & 29. It was a great success despite inclement weather on the Sunday. The artists involved did very well and we had great response to our plays.
For those of you who did not see it, we mounted Tales of The Rideau – a series of vignettes taken from Rideau Café by David Fanstone and Norman Nurmi, which we produced in the fall of 2019. Keith Stanton, Omar Simonyi, Terry Restoule, and Peter Boire recreated their original roles, and Andrea Howard, Sheila Cook and Barry Patrick also starred.
Chin Up, directed by Ann MacLaughlan, starred Shannon MacLellan and Marc Alarie. It was a play about dating in a future filled with pandemics. Heddy Sorour-Roberts directed Bradley Smith, Heather Steele and Patricia Warnock in Alexa the Liar, a story about an unhelpful Alexa. Both were well received and Guy Newsham, the playwright, who was there on Saturday was very happy with the performances. He told us that this was the first time Chin Up had been produced on stage – we hosted a World Premiere!
